On Saturday September 13th we celebrated 10 recently promoted yudansha (in the last 2 years) from our dojo community. Each one that was present (2 had to miss due to other obligations) led a 10 minute class segment highlighting one or more favorite techniques and everyone in attendance (from not yet ranked to rokudan) had a great time training and celebrating together.

The last four certificates finally arrived from Japan and were presented, and Edgar Sensei’s long time friend and training partner Eugene Sensei was there to present his framed rokudan certificate and hang it on the wall of the dojo.

After training we enjoyed a potluck at Edgar Sensei’s house and more of each other’s company. We have an amazing and talented dojo community!
